Prep Shop Hours

12:00 – 5:00 pm
Freshman families should plan to visit the Prep Shop during that time to purchase the required uniform items, including khaki pants and Riordan formal v-neck sweater and tie. Special Freshman Crusader Packages will be available starting July 30. The Prep Shop will be closed for the month of July and re-open on July 30.
For the 2018-19 school year Archbishop Riordan High School will enforce the following policy for uniform pants that are worn by students. Families must purchase pants through Riordan. These are the one and only uniform pants that will be accepted. Pants purchased through Dennis Uniform, Simply Uniform, or other retailers will not be allowed. Dickies, Ben Davis and Levi’s-brand canvas pants are not allowed.
There are two styles now available: regular and relaxed. Pants will come hemmed or unhemmed. Hemmed pants will be available in 32″ and 34″ length.
Ways to Purchase Pants
Pants must be purchased on campus in Riordan’s Prep Shop. The Prep Shop will close for the month of July and re-open on July 30. For the first two weeks of August students and families can shop in the store, try on and purchase pants. Prep Shop hours are 12:00 – 5:00 pm during this special two-week period. Please note that after August 15 the only option to purchase pants will be through Riordan’s online Prep Shop.
The cost for each pair of pants is $25. There is a small fee for shipping if purchased online after August 15.
For questions about the Prep Shop, please contact Prep Shop Manager Mr. Joey Klobas, email@example.com.
Each year we ask new parents to join the Parent Pledge Program, a four-year commitment made by families. The true cost to educate a child is more than tuition alone. A gift to the Parent Pledge Program helps to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of providing the Riordan experience to each student. The benefit of making a Parent Pledge Program gift instead of paying higher tuition is that this gift is tax deductible.
Our goal is for each family to pledge $12,000 over four years, or $3,000 a year, for each student attending Riordan. We ask each family to pledge an amount that is both generous and reasonable for them. Families who receive financial aid are asked to participate by making a pledge commensurate to their financial situation.
For more information about the Parent Pledge Program, please contact Director of Annual Giving Anne Seppi, firstname.lastname@example.org or (415)586-8200 ext. 217.
Thank you for your support of Riordan!
Technology / 1:1 iPad Program
All students are required to have an iPad for the first day of classes. We recommend the iPad Air or above, the iPad Mini 3 or above or the iPad Pro. While the iPad Mini is an acceptable choice, it has a much smaller screen, which can reduce the impact of certain visually interactive apps in the sciences or the arts. Students pursuing digital media courses and extracurriculars may want the larger format screen with retina display, available on both the iPad Air and the iPad Pro.
The iPad needs to be running the latest iOS at all times. To update this on the iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. While you are able to get older versions of the iPad, please be aware that the iPad 1 is not an acceptable model as it cannot handle the processing speeds necessary for digital textbooks. Additional information about technology will be presented at Freshman/New Student Orientation on August 13.

General School Communications
The primary way that we communicate with our families is through email. If you haven’t submitted your contact information through PowerSchool or are not receiving emails from the school, please contact Director of Communications Ms. Victoria Terheyden, email@example.com or (415)586-8200 ext 266.
In addition to email, from time to time we also send text message alerts through a program called School Messenger. Per regulations, this is an opt-in system. Later this summer we will be sending a message with a brief introduction from School Messenger and instructions how you can sign up. If you have already received a School Messenger request, please follow the instructions to opt in.
