Crusader Cash / MySchool Account

Riordan uses a keypad on campus to allow students to purchase food, clothes, and event tickets through our Crusader Cash system. Parents need to set up an account, and keep it replenished, through MySchool Account. Students will need to use their student ID numbers to make purchases on campus.

Visit MySchool Account to setup an account online, deposit money, and review your son’s purchases campus. Make sure to assign the student under the registered account with the student’s ID number, and please keep this account replenished as needed. It is also recommended to download and use the MySchoolAccount app. Contact support@myschoolaccount.com for any questions or technical inquiries about online deposits.

Immunization Forms

All students students must have an immunization record on file with the school. Per school policy, your will not be allowed to attend classes on Thursday, August 16 until a completed immunization record is on file with the school. This includes proof of a recent TB skin test taken within the last 12 months, and Tdap.

A copy of the immunization form can be downloaded here. We recommend it be delivered in person to Riordan’s Main Office, or emailed to valvarado@riordanhs.org.

Parent Pledge

Each year we ask new parents to join the Parent Pledge Program, a four-year commitment made by families. The true cost to educate a child is more than tuition alone. A gift to the Parent Pledge Program helps to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of providing the Riordan experience to each student. The benefit of making a Parent Pledge Program gift instead of paying higher tuition is that this gift is tax deductible.

Our goal is for each family to pledge $12,000 over four years, or $3,000 a year, for each student attending Riordan. We ask each family to pledge an amount that is both generous and reasonable for them. Families who receive financial aid are asked to participate by making a pledge commensurate to their financial situation.

You can make a gift and view pledge options by downloading a Parent Pledge Form, or by visiting www.riordangiving.com to set up online payments.

For more information about the Parent Pledge Program, please contact Director of Annual Giving Anne Seppi, aseppi@riordanhs.org or (415)586-8200 ext. 217.

Thank you for your support of Riordan!

Athletics Information
Please see this link on Riordan’s Athletics website that gives an overview of fall sports tryout dates and forms that need to be submitted in advance of a student participating in Athletics, including a Medical Examination and Release Form that needs to be completed by a physician.

Technology / 1:1 iPad Program
All students are required to have an iPad for the first day of classes. We recommend the iPad Air or above, the iPad Mini 3 or above or the iPad Pro. While the iPad Mini is an acceptable choice, it has a much smaller screen, which can reduce the impact of certain visually interactive apps in the sciences or the arts. Students pursuing digital media courses and extracurriculars may want the larger format screen with retina display, available on both the iPad Air and the iPad Pro.

The iPad needs to be running the latest iOS at all times. To update this on the iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. While you are able to get older versions of the iPad, please be aware that the iPad 1 is not an acceptable model as it cannot handle the processing speeds necessary for digital textbooks. Additional information about technology will be presented at Freshman/New Student Orientation on August 13.

Graphing Calculators
Incoming 9th graders are required to purchase a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator.

Campus Ministry / Community Service Requirement

Incoming Freshmen are required to activate their account to track service hours on www.x2vol.com by New Student Orientation on Monday, August 13. Account activation and student service hour submission instructions can be found in this Quick Guide

Service is a key component of the Riordan experience, and members of the Class of 2022 are required to complete a total of 25 service hours by the 4th quarter (March 6, 2019), with a minimum of 15 SHED.
All hours are cumulative for transcript purposes, but all students must complete at least 25 hours every year. Read this story about senior Victor Anderson’s experience volunteering for Meals on Wheels.

For additional information visit please visit the Campus Ministry section of our website.

General School Communications

If you have already received a School Messenger request, please follow the instructions to opt in.
